The Rajadamnern Stadium committee and RWS Muay Thai team today confirmed plans for a new Women’s division at the prestigous stadium.
Following on from the success of the Women’s Minimumweight and Bantamweight divisions, a third women’s division will launch in 2026.
A new era for Women’s Muay Thai
Its only been just over three years since women have been allowed to compete at Rajadamnern Stadium. For decades, women were forbidden from even touching the ring.
In 2022, Rajadamnern Stadium abolished the rule and the first ever female fights were held at RWS Muay Thai in August 2022.
Since then, female Muay Thai has gone from strength to strength.
Rajadamnern Stadium Women’s Bantamweight Division
A year later, in October 2023, Rajadamnern Stadium released the first ever female rankings at the stadium. Then in December of that year, Somratsamee beat Sevgi Dogan to win the first ever Rajadamnern Stadium Women’s Bantamweight title.
Rajadamnern Stadium Women’s Minimumweight Division
In October 2024, Rajadamnern Stadium then introduced the Women’s Minimuweight division. Payahong Banchamek became the inaugural Rajadamnern Stadium Minimumweight champion when she beat Saya Ito. She later lost the title to Mongkutpetch in April 2025.
