Thai sluggers Rambong Sor Therapat and Chartpayak Saksatoon collide in a flyweight Muay Thai co-main event clash at The Inner Circle 28, and fans can expect a high-octane battle to unfold this Friday, August 28.
Rambong has an 11-4 record in the promotion, while Chartpayak counters with a 10-2 record in ONE Championship. They also enter this headliner clash on a winning streak, putting them firmly in the conversation for a US$100,000 main roster contract.
Here’s what the two had to say ahead of their contest in Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, later this week.
Rambong looks to build another lengthy win streak
Rambong brings a three-fight winning streak into the contest, a positive run after two painful setbacks in the second half of 2025.
If he gets his hand raised against Chartpayak, the 29-year-old believes this could be the continuation of a much longer winning run than the one he enjoyed in the promotion from June 2023 to December 2024.
He said:
“I want to secure four wins in a row, and then I hope to break my personal record by hitting eight straight wins. I want to push past my previous ceiling and reach that ONE contract opportunity.”
He certainly has one eye locked in on a triumph inside the legendary venue. However, make no mistake, the Rambong Muay Thai representative is not overlooking the quality that Chartpayak possesses inside the ring.
The 29-year-old knows better than most, after all, that there is no room for complacency. Every assignment in the organization will test him in different ways. Rambong continued:
“Chartpayak and I are evenly matched. The fact that both of us have put together seven-fight winning streaks shows we’re no ordinary fighters. Physically, there isn’t much difference between us. It will come down to who executes better inside the ring. Whoever takes this fight will gain a massive confidence boost and return to their peak first.”
Beyond the streak and stylistic matchup, Rambong has his eyes on a distinction no other Thai fighter currently holds. He stated:
“I want to be the first Thai fighter to beat Chartpayak in ONE Friday Fights [and The Inner Circle]. I’ll use my physical durability to press forward continuously, and I’m confident I can walk away with the win.”
Chartpayak prepared to give it his all against Rambong
Like Rambong, Chartpayak enjoyed a seven-fight winning run during his early days in ONE Championship. However, he admits he got careless during his hunt for the spectacular against Ramadan Ondash, which allowed the latter to flip the script and wrap things up early.
He reflected:
“Looking back at that loss to Ramadan, I have to admit there’s still a bit of regret deep down. But I don’t dwell on it too much because winning and losing are just part of the sport. The biggest takeaway for me was definitely about impatience and defense. In that fight, I was way too overconfident.”
Since that defeat, he’s gone 3-1 in the promotion. The Kiatpet athlete is not framing this one as simple progress, though. He sees his fight against Rambong as one that decides which direction the rest of his career takes.
Chartpayak added:
“This fight is massive because it’s a make-or-break moment for both of us to see who gets back to the top of the division, while the loser goes straight back to square one. So I have to get past him no matter what because my ultimate goal remains the same: earning that ONE contract. I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got.”
