Fight Record, the UK’s leading independent combat sports media platform, has today announced an exciting new partnership with Houghton Thai Boxing Academy (HTBA) to launch the Fight Record Prospect Series. A new combat sports event series launching in 2027, dedicated to finding and developing undiscovered talent at grassroots level.
The series will be broadcast live and exclusively through the Fight Record app, available on web, iOS and Android.
What is the Fight Record Prospect Series?
The Fight Record Prospect Series is a combat sports event built around a simple but significant idea: that some of the best talent Muay Thai and Kickboxing never gets seen, never gets a platform, and never gets the support it needs to progress through the sport’s professional pathway.
The series will focus on first-time competitors and early-stage fighters who represent the grassroots foundation of the sport. Every event in the series is designed to give those fighters a level of media coverage and professional infrastructure that grassroots competition has rarely offered before.
The long-term objective is clear: to provide a structured, transparent, and achievable pathway from a fighter’s first professional bout to the top of the sport.
The Partnership
The series brings together two organisations with a shared belief in putting fighters first.
Fight Record was founded in 2017 with the mission of making combat sports more transparent, more discoverable, and better documented. Over nine years, the platform has grown into one of Europe’s most recognised Muay Thai and Kickboxing media platforms, with established working relationships with the sport’s biggest international organisations.
Houghton Thai Boxing Academy is one of the most respected combat sports gyms in the north east of England, built from the ground up by head coach Jake Thirlaway. The gym has developed a reputation for producing disciplined, well-prepared fighters and for operating with genuine care for athlete welfare and development.
The two organisations share a founding belief that combat sports grows when the infrastructure around it serves the fighters. Not the other way around.
The Media Platform
Every fight on the Fight Record Prospect Series will be documented and broadcast through Fight Record’s digital infrastructure, giving fighters a level of media coverage that grassroots competition rarely receives.
Live broadcasts, fight results, fighter profiles, and event coverage will all be available exclusively through the Fight Record app. Fighters who compete in the series will have their results documented permanently on the Fight Record platform, building a professional digital record from the very first bout of their career.
