Amy Pirnie vs Lara Fernandez: Lion Fight 68 Glasgow Preview, Live Stream, Start Time

Lion Fight arrive in Glasgow for their debut event in Scotland on Sunday 22nd August.

Featured on the epic line-up is a huge female Muay Thai bout for the Lion Fight World title.

Amy Pirnie is set to defend her Super-Flyweight crown for the second time when she faces Lara Fernandez.

For Pirnie, it will be the first time in many years where she has fought in front of a home crowd.

The two-time Lion Fight World champion has been on a long unbeaten run throughout her professional career.

Fighting in the USA, Sweden, Finland, south of the Scottish border in the UK, she has beaten some of the top female Muay Thai fighters in the World at her weight.

“It’s amazing to be able to defend my Lion Fight World title for a second time, but I’m even more excited to be doing it at home”, Amy told us.

She continued, “With a lot of fights in 2019 being abroad, I’ve not been in front of my own fans for almost three years, and there will be a lot of them on 22nd August. I can’t wait to hear them all when I walk to the ring, especially my mum, dad and sisters.”

Her opponent, however, is no stranger to fighting on foreign turf.

Lara Fernandez was most recently successful in her WBC Muaythai World title bout in March 2020, where she defeated Grace Spicer at Combat Fight Series in Croydon, London.

The Spanish fighter is also bringing a long win streak into this bout, having won her last seven straight professional bouts.

During this time, she also won the Spanish national open championship, where she hopes her success under this competition and ruleset will earn her a spot in the national team as Muay Thai progresses to the Olympic Games.
