Four Title Bouts Confirmed For LION FIGHT 68 In Glasgow

Amy Pirnie vs Lara Fernandez - Fight Fight 68 Glasgow

American Muay Thai promotion, Lion Fight Promotions, continue their raid on Europe when they arrive in Glasgow for LION FIGHT 68 on Sunday 22nd August, promoted by Rebellion.

Earlier this week it was confirmed four huge World title bouts would be included on the LION FIGHT debut event in Scotland.

Amy Pirnie vs Lara Fernandez

Home favourite Amy Pirnie, who won and defended the Lion Fight World title in 2019, will be making her second defence of her crown when she takes on tough challenger, Lara Fernandez.

Spanish female Muay Thai star, Lara Fernandez, is without a loss since her 2018 meeting against Iman Barlow under Kickboxing rules. Since then, she has registered seven straight victories, including defeating Grace Spicer for the WBC Muaythai World title in March 2020.

Jake Peacock vs Federico Alfaro

British-Canadian knockout artist, Jake Peacock, originally born in Newcastle upon Tyne, will be making his first in-ring appearance on this side of the Atlantic Ocean next month.

After defeated Kaleb Hunter for the North-American title at Lion Fight 65 last month, he now challenges Spanish fighter and former WMC champion Federico Alfaro for the Lion Fight Super-Welterweight European title.

Craig Coakley vs Pok Biil

Irish Muay Thai star Craig Coakley is set to make his Lion Fight debut next month when he takes on Thailand’s Pok Biil.

Biil, who lives in Finland and trains out of Combat Academy in Helsinki, is a MAX Muay Thai champion, KOK 4-Man Tournament champion and a seven-time Finnish National champion.

He will face a tough task however when he takes on Craig Coakley, who got back to winning ways with a huge victory over Deniz Demirkapu at UAM Muay Thai in Abu Dhabi last month.

They face-off for the Lion Fight Super-Lightweight European title at the SWG3 in Glasgow on Sunday 22nd August.

Jorina Baars vs Claire Clements

Former WBC Muaythai Regional champion and WKA Muaythai World champion, Claire Clements, hasn’t competed in more than two years.

In her last bout, she defeated National champion Slaheoldine Thomas to cement her place as one of the best female Muay Thai fighters in the UK, but she steps up for one of the biggest fights in her career at Lion Fight 68 next month.

Clements will take on the highly-experienced Jorina Baars, who is considered one of the greatest female Muay Thai and Kickboxing fighters in the World. She is currently ranked #4 pound-for-pound by Combat Press.

In 2019, she made her ONE Championship debut. Albeit a split decision loss to German fighter Christina Breuer, this was only her second defeat in her 50-fight career.

When is Lion Fight 68 in Glasgow?

Lion Fight 68, promoted by Rebellion, will be the first Muay Thai event in Scotland since the COVID-19 pandemic. The Rebellion undercard, plus Lion Fight main card will be held at the SWG3 Studio, just 2 short miles from Glasgow city center, on Sunday 22nd August 2021.
