Jimmy Vienot Advances To Next Round with Stoppage Win at IFMA World Championships

WBC and WMC World Champion Jimmy Vienot advanced to the second round of the IFMA World Championships after a stoppage win in the first round of the Championships in Bangkok yesterday.

The Frenchman Vienot, who entered the Elite A -75kg category, overwhelmed his opponent in the opening round, forcing the referee to give a ten-count which was not answered by the Estonian Karl Joonatan Kvell.

Vienot now advances to the second round of a category with 32 participants, facing Giovanni Mazetti in Ring C later today.

The Peruvian is coming off a second round stoppage in the first round of the tournament and will be full of confidence going into today’s match-up, but he faces a tough task against one of the most experienced and coveted athletes at this years Championships in Jimmy Vienot.
