After dominating the domestic scene over the last few years, current Thai Fighter UK 82.5kg #1, Juan Cervantes took four wins from four international bouts in 2018 and is currently riding a 6-fight win streak, including three by KO.

Now, the Northern Kings man has the opportunity to win a second World Title in the space of four months when he faces current cruiserweight Chip Moraza-Pollard at Lion Fight 51 in Los Angeles on 16th February.

After starting 2018 with a decision win over Romain Falendry at the Homeshow 9 back in March, Cervantes went onto stop French-Morrocan Mehdi Fassal with a first-round headkick KO at Enfusion Newcastle in June.

A short notice opportunity then came up to face Luca Andrianni for the WTKA World Title in Italy. On just three-weeks notice, Cervantes won his first World title against the tough Italian in his home country.

On the same day, Joakim Hagg of Gothenburg Muay Thai in Sweden, competed for a Lion Fight World title in the USA. Joakim lost the bout and then was matched against Cervantes at Victory IV in December. Cervantes did just enough to take the decision in an exciting bout that could’ve gone either way.

Fast-forward just a month and Lion Fight have just announced that Cervantes will face the current cruiserweight World champion Chip “The Surgeon” Moraza-Pollard at the famed Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles on 16th February.

When asked about the opportunity to fight for the Lion Fight World title, Cervantes said;

“Obviously I’m incredibly excited about this opportunity. It’s a great start to 2019 after a successful year last year, and one that will hopefully lead on to many more in the long term!”

He also added, “My preparation will be the same as usual. I train as hard as I can for every fight, but the excitement and buzz for this one is a little more!”
