Muay Thai In MMA Gloves; OKTAGON UNDG 8-Man Tournament
Known as one of the biggest combat sports promotions in Europe, OKTAGON MMA kick-off 2021 with a new project named UNDG: LAST MAN STANDING.
Set to take place at the Zoner BOBYHALL in Brno-Královo Pole, Czechia on 27th February 2021, the LAST MAN STANDING event will feature an eight-man Muay Thai tournament.
Set at 70kg, the tournament will feature some of the best Muay Thai fighters in Europe. Adopting an attractive ruleset in combat sports for the wider audience, the fighters will compete under Muay Thai rules but in 4oz MMA gloves and inside a cage.
Since its inception from the likes of MX Muay Thai and more recently Muay Hardcore, Muay Thai in MMA gloves has been growing in popularity and being used on many more promotions in recent years; notably ONE Championship.
OKTAGON MMA released the first four names of the fighters competing in the eight-man LAST MAN STANDING tournament last week. Milan Paleš, Michael Krcmar, Václav Sivák and Vladimír Vengál will be amongst the challengers.
It was also recently announced that Spain’s Welterweight #1, and arguably one of the greatest Muay Thai fighters in Europe at his weight, Marc Dass Rey, will also enter the tournament.
The event will also feature other fighters such as Vladimír Moravčík, Tomáš Hron or Igor Daniš, and Monika Chochlíková, who have all developed successful fighting careers through OKTAGON MMA.
