Thai-Malaysian wonderkid Aliff Sor Dechapan went 4-0 on ONE Friday Fights in 2023, earned a six-figure contract with ONE Championship.
Since then, though, he’s suffered back-to-back losses. Firstly in a Kickboxing rules bout to Zhang Peimian, then a split decision loss to Ellis Barboza at ONE Fight Night 23.
He’ll now take on Thongpoon PK Saenchai in a Strawweight Muay Thai bout at ONE Fight Night 24 on August 3.
Aliff Sor Dechapan vs Thongpoon
Much like Aliff, Thongpoon also earned himself a six-figure deal after a successful spell at ONE Friday Fights in 2023.
The Thai scored three straight victories in the first half of 2023 before receiving the call-up.
It wasn’t until December 2023 when he made his first ‘proper’ appearance in ONE Championship, however the bout against Ellis Barboza was later declared a ‘No Contest’ due to Barboza failing a drugs test.
In 2024, Thongpoon got off to a quick start by dismissing Timur Chuikov in the first round of their bout at ONE Fight Night 19. But he later suffered his first official loss to Zakaria El Jamari at ONE Fight Night 22 on May 3.
