After two straight victories in her ONE Championship tenure, Anissa Meksen is set for her third appearance in the ONE circle. After dominant wins over Cristina Morales and Marie Ruumet, she is now set to face ONE debutant, Dangkongfah.
The pair will meet at ONE on Prime Video 2, which is set to take place in the early hours of Saturday, October 1. They will clash in an Atomweight Muay Thai bout.
Twelve months ago, Anissa Meksen finally made her ONE Championship debut. She faced former Enfusion Kickboxing Word champion, Cristina Morales, in an Atomweight Kickboxing bout. A dominant performance saw the former GLORY Kickboxing champion take a second round knockout win.
Meksen then returned to the ONE circle to face Marie Ruumet under Muay Thai rules at ONE 156 in April. Meksen beat the Estonia fighter down over three rounds, taking a convincing unanimous decision. After the fight, she made her feelings clear on a bout against current ONE Atomweight Kickboxing champion, Janet Todd.
Despite this, Janet Todd went on to face Lara Fernandez, where she won the Interim Atomweight Muay Thai World title. This led to frustration from Anissa, who posted more comments directed at the new interim champion. The feud has led to many Meksen fans claiming that Todd is avoiding a fight against the former GLORY champ. Todd’s camp have confirmed however that they have not received an offer to fight Anissa Meksen thus far, and if they did so, they would not turn it down.
Despite this, Meksen now turns her attention to Thailand champion Dangkongfah Banchamek, who will make her ONE debut at ONE on Prime Video 2. Dangkongfah is a Thailand champion, having beaten the current ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World champion, Allycia Rodrigues, back in 2020.
Throughout 2020, Dangkongfah went unbeaten in seven bouts and in 2021 she went on to defeat Souris Manfredi to claim the WBC Muaythai World title.
