Everyone who is anyone knows of this Muay Thai gym based in the West Yorkshire city of Leeds. It is home to the best fighters to have ever been produced from the UK. To witness the hard work and determination put in by all at the gym was amazing to see, everyone there helping out and pitching in and passing on their knowledge to the next generation of fighters. Liam Harrison, Jordan Watson, Andy Howson, Joe Craven and Stephen Meleady are all among names who regularly train and represent Bad Company on both the national and international Muay Thai circuit.
Being able to visit the best gyms in the country has always been part of the plan and walking through the doors into one of the best gyms in the country, it was a ‘this is the life’ moment that happened for me. Walking into Bad Company with my business partners knowing that we were there for a purpose; to build and share our vision for Fight Record.
When we arrived, Harrison, Howson and Craven were all running private training sessions. The gym was surprisingly big, I don’t know what I had in my head but, as you walk in there is a big open space where the big classes happen, it has a ring on the bottom side of the space, also with stairs up that lead you to the second ring and training area. There is a selection of bags on a big scaffolding rack on one side and the changing room/toilets and another ring on the other side of the area.
A very well-equipped gym with everything you could possibly need to do a Muay Thai training session. After the introductions and pleasantries were out of the way it was time to get down to business. Capturing all of the fighters’ information for the Fight Record database, capturing the media that we need for the Fighter Profiles on the Fight Record website and some videos that we can use for promotional content in the future.
Everyone was an absolute delight to deal with. They made our jobs so easy, we quickly got to know everyone in the gym and with the support of Richard Smith, head coach and owner of Bad Company, and Fight Record’s Craig Jose, the experience run as smoothly as we could have hoped for and was way ahead of schedule.
Travelling up and down the country getting to know everyone along the way is only part of the exciting journey that Fight Record has decided to venture on and there is so much more in the pipeline that I strongly suggest that you do not mess about in getting signed up to Fight Record and make sure you don’t miss out on more updates coming very soon!
Wondering which gym Fight Record will conquer next? Keep your eyes peeled!
