Fight Record turned five-years-old in 2022, and because of that, we have decided now is a great time to launch our very own UK Muay Thai awards.
This year, we have carefully selected a bunch male and female UK Muay Thai fighters as nominees for our inaugural Fight Record ‘Fighter of the Year’ 2022 Awards.
Nominees have been selected based on activity, wins and achievements across 2022. The list of fighters will be sent to an independent panel of judges to vote for their winner — all of which have no link or bias towards any of the nominees.
Below is our list of nominees for the first ever Fight Record ‘Male Fighter of the Year’ 2022. You can see the list of nominees for Female Fighter of the Year here.
Josh Hill (6-0)
One of the most active fighters in recent years, Josh Hill has added another 6 straight victories to his record in 2022. As well as collecting a WMO MuayThai European title and ISKA MuayThai World title, he also defeated a former Rajadamnern Stadium champion in Kongjak Por.Pao-In.

2022 has been another epic year for the ‘King of the North’, Nico Carrillo. Not only did he add two world titles to his name, but he also defeated Muay Thai legend, Saeksan Or.Kwangmuang in Ireland in April. 2023 looks to be another exciting year for the Scotsman, with a WBC MuayThai World title bout and WMO MuayThai World title unification.

Niall McGreevy (4-0)
Four straight victories in 2022 has solidified Niall McGreevy‘s spot as one of the best Welterweights in Britain. He started the year with a big win over Max McVicker in March. Then, three wins—including two by stoppage—earned the Belfast man a £7,000 bonus in the Victory League.

Joe Ryan (5-0)
At just 18-years-old, Joe Ryan already has the nation excited for the future of UK Muay Thai. He started his year off with a gold medal at the IFMA European Championships in Turkey after winning twice in two days. He later went on to win the WBC MuayThai European title and finished with year with a bang, claiming the ISKA MuayThai World title with a first-round head kick knockout.

2022 not only saw George Jarvis become a European champion, but he also became a two-time World champion. The Lumpinee Crawley star added four-straight victories to his record this year, ending with a big international victory over the highly-experienced Nicolas Mendes.
