Freddie Haggerty Outpoints Yonis Anane in Strawweight Muay Thai Scrap at The Inner Circle

British fighter Freddie Haggerty walked away with a unanimous decision win at The Inner Circle on Friday, May 22. Haggerty, 21, outworked teenage sensation Yonis Anane in a strawweight Muay Thai contest. The bout took place at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.

Both youngsters had their moments through the nine minutes of action. The Knowlesy Academy and Team Underground representative took the win on relentless aggression and high kick attacks.

Family bragging rights

The win matters beyond the cards. Freddie is the younger brother of ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Jonathan Haggerty. His victory claims early bragging rights in what could become one of the next great striking family rivalries on the global stage.

Jonathan won his ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title and became one of British combat sports’ biggest exports. Freddie has spent years working his way through the strawweight Muay Thai ranks at Knowlesy Academy. His decision win over Anane suggests he is ready to start carving out his own legacy.

What’s next

Haggerty now sits at 24-5 and on a strong footing for bigger ONE Championship opportunities. Anane suffered his first major setback on the global stage. The teenage sensation has plenty of time to bounce back.
