Featured fighter and upcoming talent, Hayden Armstrong of Unit 5 Muay Thai in Carlisle, competes this weekend at the 2 Brothers Muay Thai home show; Stand Your Ground 8.
Fresh off a big win against James Mackenzie at Victory IV to finish a big 2018, Hayden is looking to make an even bigger statement this year as he kicks-off with a tough challenge against the YOKKAO Open champion, Reiss Holden-Payton.
The Unit 5 Muay Thai youngster is determined and ready to put on a show on Saturday against one of his toughest tests to date. Here’s what he had to say ahead of the upcoming bout this weekend.
“Training for my next fight where I face 2018 YOKKAO Open Champion, Reiss Holden-Payton, has gone very well. I don’t have any knocks or injuries which is a bonus.
“I’ve settled in well at the new gym and although I had a good first year fighting for Unit 5 Muay Thai, I still have a lot of learning to do to get to where I want to be in the sport.
“I train for every fight as if I’m about to face the hardest opponent out there, and this fight is no different.”
“I’ve traveled around a bit for extra sparring and I would like to give a shout out to the guys at Northern Kings in Newcastle for the Saturday morning smash ups.
“I’m fight ready, as I’m sure Reiss is also, and I’m expecting fireworks on Saturday.”
