Tomorrow, UK #1 and World #3, Joe Craven of Bad Company gym in Leeds, will face the current WBC World champion and #1, Youssef Boughanem, for the prestigious WBC World title at PSM Fight Night in Brussels.
We spoke with the Halifax-born fighter, Craven, ahead of his upcoming bout World title bout with Moroccan-Belgian Muaythai superstar Youssef Boughanem to ask how he is feeling after recent events and how he has prepared for the biggest fight of his career so far.

How are you feeling after the fight with Chris Shaw to solidify your spot as #1 in the UK?
Joe: “I’m feeling really good! I came out the fight with no injuries and was straight back into the gym the following Monday kicking and punching!”
Who do you see challenging you next for the UK top spot?
Joe: “Whoever they put in front of me. But my sole focus is on Youssef at the minute.”
So this will be the biggest fight in your career, how has preparation gone for this fight with Youssef?
Joe: “Preparation has been great, I’ve trained solid for months now, especially because I’m coming off a fight 4-weeks ago with Chris Shaw!
“Nutrition has been bang on, strength and conditioning has been bang on and training has been bang on! Now all that’s left to do is to do my thing Monday the 22nd!
How are you feeling ahead of the fight with Youssef?
Joe: “I’m excited! Obviously nerves play a part but that’s the case with every fight! I’m excited to be going home with two World titles after it!”
What does it mean to you to be ranked #3 in the world?
Joe: “It means that I’m getting closer to where I want to be, after Monday I’ll be #1.”
What would it mean to you to win the WBC world title?
Joe: “It’s been my dream since I was a child. Seeing all the boxing greats first have the title and then as I got a little older seeing all my Thaiboxing hero’s pick up the belt. Now it’s my turn!”
