Danny Parker, who lives in Paphos and trains at Team Akopian, moved to Cyprus with his parents back in 2006.
At 13-years-old, Danny started training at Team Akopian under former K1 fighter Arturos Akopian and got hooked on the sport from the start.
“I knew straight after my first amateur fight this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.”
What’s it like training and fighting abroad?
“It’s great, I love training at Team Akopian.
“My trainer, Arturos Akopian, who was a great K1 fighter, is very technical and makes me work hard every session.”
Would you like to return to the UK and compete here in the future?
“Yes! I would definitely like to think about doing that in the future. Muay Thai is at such a high level in the UK and is taking over.”
What would you like to achieve/what is your goal in your fighting career?
“My goal is to fight my hardest every fight and reach the top.
“My ultimate goal is to fight at ONE Championship and GLORY Kickboxing. I love fighting both Muaythai and K1 rules!
