Imperial Muay Thai’s Jack Maguire will make his VICTORY debut when he faces former rival Jack Cooper in a highly anticipated rematch for the UKMF Super-Welterweight (69.85kg) English title at VICTORY 5 on 7th December.
The pair faced each other last year where the slightly more experienced Jack Cooper took the decision in a hard-fought battle.
Now, after gaining a more ring experience with numerous trips to Thailand, competing regularly throughout the end of 2018 and beginning of 2019, Jack Maguire, who is ranked #9 in the UK at 69.85kg, says he has developed a lot in the last year and can take the win in the rematch.
UK #3 Jack Cooper, who was last seen in the VICTORY ring when he lost a points decision to Liam McGrandles for the UKMF 66.6kg British title at Victory IV last December, said he felt sluggish after fighting below his usual weight, but will be a lot more confident at his regular weight of 69.8kg when he faces Maguire for the English title this time round.
Since the bout with McGrandles last year, Cooper has gone on to take a strong win against Ricky Sewell at MTGP 27 Manchester and will be confident of keeping his win streak going coming into the second-part of 2019.
In the first bout between Cooper and Maguire in September last year, Cooper was the far more experienced fighter, but after an extremely active 12-months for Maguire, they will now bring a similar amount of ring-time into this bout, making for a very exciting and pondering rematch.
