Jonathan Haggerty has suffered his fair share of disappointments throughout 2022. He kicked-off the year with a huge win over Mongkolpetch PetchyindeeAcademy at ONE: BAD BLOOD on February 11. Subsequently, though, he suffered two major medical withdrawals.
The “General” was scheduled to face Walter Goncalves in the quarter-final of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai Grand Prix in May. However, health concerns meant Haggerty had to withdraw from the bout just days before.

He was then scheduled to face Amir Naseri in a Grand Prix alternate bout at ONE 161 in August. Again, health reasons meant he had to withdraw from the bout during fight week.
The former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World champion is set for his next bout in ONE Super Series. This time, though, he moves up to Bantamweight to challenge Vladimir Kuzmin. The pair will clash at ONE on Prime Video 4 on Saturday, November 19.
Russian, Vladimir Kuzmin, has looked dangerous since his ONE debut earlier this year. He picked up a huge victory over Haggerty’s fellow Brit, Chris Shaw, in February. He later went on to challenge Muangthai P.K..SaenchaiMuayThaiGym in a razor-close Bantamweight Muay Thai contest. He lost out on a narrow split decision.
The “Road to ONE” winner will now welcome Haggerty to the Bantamweight division. They meet at ONE on Prime Video 4 on Saturday, November 19.
Also featured on the card, Rodtang Jitmuangnon will make his first defence of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World title in more than two years. Since beating Jonathan Haggerty for a second time in January 2020, Rodtang has only defended the crown once.

Since the title defence against Petchdam PetchyindeeAcademy in July 2020, Rodtang went on to compete under Kickboxing rules. He beat Tagir Khalilov in February 2021 before a win over Danial Williams in a non-title bout at ONE on TNT 1 in April 2021.
In May 2022, Rodtang entered the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai Grand Prix. Though the title was not up for grabs this time, he went on to defeat Jacob Smith in the quart-final bout. He was then scheduled to face Savvas Michael in the semi-final, but was forced to withdraw after failing to provide a hydration sample.
Now, he is back to finally defend the Flyweight Muay Thai World title against Italian star, Joseph Lasiri. After Lasiri defeated Prajanchai P.K.SaenchaiMuayThaiGym to claim the ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World title, he will be looking to cause another major upset and become a two-weight Muay Thai World champion.
