Slovakia’s Monika Chochlikova put on a show for her home fans once again this past weekend.
The WMC Muay Thai Bantamweight World Champion successfully defended her title at PML 20 in Trencin, Slovakia, defeating Looknam in front of a record crowd of 4,000 fans. According to promoter Tomas Tadlanek, it was the biggest event in PML history.
Monika Chochlikova Handles Experienced Challenger
Looknam was no easy opponent. The Thai fighter has competed on both ONE Friday Fights and Rajadamnern Stadium, making her one of the more credible challengers Chochlikova has faced on home soil.
But it didn’t matter. The Slovak champion was dominant, sending the Trencin crowd home happy with a convincing title defence.
Other results at PML 20
The main event wasn’t the only highlight of the night. Lukas Mandinec also retained gold, defeating Roman Kucera to hold onto his PML -65kg title.
Adrian Ertel got the better of Marciej Karpinski, and Lukas Antal beat Adam Kosiacki in what was a stacked night of action from top to bottom.
PML 20 set a new benchmark for the promotion. If Saturday night is anything to go by, the ceiling is only getting higher.
