On Saturday night, the current UK 82.5kg #2 Rob Allen, avenged his loss to Dylan Meagher with a five-round unanimous decision win over the Irishman at Roar Combat League 13 in Birmingham.
After levelling the score with Meagher and winning the Roar British title, Allen’s next challenge with be against the current UK #1, Juan Cervantes, with the top spot and UKMF 82.5kg British title up for grabs.

We spoke with Rob Allen to reflect on the victory over the Irishman, Meagher, and look ahead to his plans for the rest of the year.
How are you feeling after your performance against Dylan at the weekend?
Rob: “‘I’m feeling good, I’ve got a few sore bits but that’s to be expected after a 5 round war, but I’m already back in the gym being active again. I’m glad I put it right at the weekend and proved what I could do. Being ill last time really took it out of me.
“Training camp went really well and I had the best weight cut / diet I’ve ever had, working with a fight specific nutritionist really paid off for this fight.
“Dylan was as tough as the first fight, but I think I performed well. I showed I can fight on the back foot, box and kick, I’m not just a clincher. In my opinion I won comfortably, being 3 rounds ups.”
On to your next fight; what do you think of Juan Cervantes as an opponent and do you have any predictions for the fight?
Rob: “My next fight is massive for me, it’s a fight I’ve always wanted. I’m fighting for the UK #1 spot. Juan is very experienced and very dangerous, but at this level, aren’t we all?
“My prediction is me winning; how that happens I’m not too bothered about. I’m fit for 5 rounds if needs be, but anything less is a bonus.”
Any other plans confirmed for the remainder of the year?
Rob: “Nothing is confirmed for after the fight with Juan Cervantes yet and I’m not looking past him, he’s my only focus at the moment, but a number of people keep mentioning Dan Edwards‘ name to me.
“I’d love the fight with Edwards, I think he’s a great fighter and just like Juan, I’ve watched him fight for years and looked up to him, but I think I’d cause Dan a lot of problems and we believe we would beat him.
“After making weight so easily this weekend, the move down to 79kg will happen this year for sure so it’s just a matter of time really I think.”
