Another huge fight card is locked in for RWS Muay Thai on Saturday, September 30. Today, RWS Muay Thai released the main card which features 6 bouts — 3 of which are tournament finals.
Capitan vs Nuenglanlek
The main event will see Capitan and Nuenglanlek square off in the Super-Lightweight tournament final. The pair have already met twice in recent years.
In March 2021, they met at Petchyindee’s Muaymunwansuk show, where the bout ended in a draw. Earlier this year, they fought on the special RWS and Petchyindee Muay Thai event. Capitan was victorious in that bout.
Although Capitan lost to Petchtongnoi in June, he finished the group stages on 2 wins and 1 loss. His wins over Soner VenumMuayThai and Sakulchailek were enough to see him advance to the knockout stages. In the semi-finals, he defeated Chujaroen Dabransarakarm.
Ironically, Nuenglanlek lost to Chujaroen in the group stage bouts. However, his two wins over Pinpetch and Mathias Phountoucos were enough to see him through to the semi-finals. He then defeated Petchtongnoi in the final 4 on August 19.
Somratsamee vs Ngaoprajan
Somratsamee is the current RWS Female Bantamweight champion. She earned the title by winning the tournament in 2022, defeating Zehra Dogan in the final.
She topped her group again this year. She then went on to beat Kamlaipetch in the semi-final last month and advanced to the final.
The runner-up of her group, Ngaoprajan, defeated Sevgi Dogan in the other semi-final bout. They will now meet again for a second time this year, but this time in the final.
