Saturday, September 30 — Today, RWS Muay Thai hosted three tournament finals at the prestigious Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Men’s Lightweight, Super-Lightweight and Women’s Bantamweight tournaments came to a head on today’s event.
Lamnammoonlek vs Samingdet
After the preliminary bouts, the Men’s Lightweight tournament final was first up of the three featured bouts. Last years’ reigning champion Lamnammoonlek Tded99 was up against Samingdet Nor AnuwatGym.
Lamnammoonlek controlled much of the bout, looking sharper in all aspects. He took the win via unanimous decision and earned a second-straight RWS Muay Thai title.
Somratsamee vs Ngaoprajan
Somratsamee was next up, defending her Bantamweight crown which she won at last years tournament. She faced Ngaoprajan, who she’d previously beaten in the group stages earlier this year.
Again, Somratsamee looked in control throughout the bout, taking every round on the judges scorecards. She finished with a flash left headkick in the final round, dropping Ngaoprajan for an eight-count. She secured her second RWS Muay Thai title via unanimous decision.
Capitan vs Nuenglanlek
The trilogy between Capitan and Nuenglanlek did not disappoint. Despite losing the first round 10-9 on all three judges scorecards, Capitan turned the fight around in the second round.
His quick boxing and repeated body kicks won him rounds 2, 3 and 4. The writing was on the wall in the fifth and it was clear Capitan was running away with the fight. Nuenglanlek, recognising he’d lost the bout, slowed the pace in the final seconds of the round and accepted defeat.
