Nico Carrillo‘s first fight of 2023 has been announced, and it’s arguably his biggest fight to date.
Fresh off a WMO MuayThai World title win over Alessio Malatesta last week, Carrillo now has his sights set on the green and gold of the WBC MuayThai.

Despite moving up two weight divisions in his last bout, he will now return to his favoured Welterweight division.
The current WBC MuayThai World champion at Welterweight is Iranian star, Sajad Sattarii.
A few months ago, after Nico Carrillo announced the move from Super-Lightweight to Welterweight, we reported on our top 5 fights for Nico Carrillo at Welterweight. Of course, current WBC World champion, Sajad Sattarii, was included in the list.
Sajad won the WBC MuayThai World title in May this year, defeating Brazilian star Julio Lobo. Lobo (also known as Lobo PhuketFightClub) is widely regarded as one of the best and most active foreign Muay Thai fighters in Thailand.
After moving to Thailand in 2019, Sajad Sattari has competed on Muay Thai Super Champ and Muay Hardcore. In April 2021, he had the honour of sharing the ring with Kongklai AnnyMuayThai (ก้องไกล เอ็นนี่มวยไทย). In late 2021 and early 2022, he went on an unbeaten run of six fights, which culminated in the WBC World title victory over Julio Lobo.
He will now make his first ever appearance in the UK, where he will defend his crown against the UK’s high-flying star, Nico Carrillo.
