Superlek out-scored pound-for-pound great Takeru Segawa in the main event at ONE 165, retaining his ONE Flyweight Kickboxing world title.
The pair put on a battle for the ages as they traded over five championship rounds in the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

Known as one of the very best Kickboxing fighters on the planet, Takeru Segawa started slow, allowing ONE Flyweight Kickboxing champion Superlek to land some heavy low-kicks.
As the opening rounds ticked on, the damage from the unchecked low-kicks began to show.
With a sense of urgency, Takeru unloaded with some boxing combinations that he is renowned for, but Superlek was able to cover up and defend as he weathered the storm.
Despite Takeru walking down his opponent, he was unable to answer Superlek’s clean jabs, knees and low-kicks.
The final bell rang and it was clear Superlek had did more than enough to win all three judges votes, successfully defending his ONE Flyweight Kickboxing world title.

In the post-fight interview, Superlek was awarded a $50,000 USD bonus for his performance.
