This December, the IFMA World Championships will make it’s return for the first time in more than two years.
Last year, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, IFMA went virtual, but now travel restrictions in and out of Thailand have been lifted, the Motherland is set to host the World Championships in just two weeks.
Amongst the thousands of athletes across hundreds of countries taking part in this year’s Championships, many of Thailand’s elite Muay Thai fighters have entered into the elite categories.
One of the stand-out entrants in this year’s tournament sees Capitan Petchyindee Academy (real name; Anueng Khattamarasri) listed in the Elite 67kg division.
The current ONE Championship Kickboxing World champion will enter the stacked division made up of 21 athletes from all over the World. These include Sweden’s Kenny Hong, Finland’s Pok Biil and many more.
Another huge addition will see Thananchai Sitsongpeenong enter the Elite 71kg division.

He joins 19 other Muay Thai athletes which includes possible bouts against Andrei Kulebin and Jimmy Vienot.
In one of the biggest divisons of the whole competition, the 64.5kg elite category features 26 Muay Thai athletes from around the World.
Poland, Sweden, the USA and many more all have entries in this division, including Thailand with Superball Tded99.
