In late 2018, we launched our Fighter Database. The concept; to be source of information to find Muay Thai fighters fight records, biographies and fight history. Like the “Sherdog or BoxRec of Muay Thai”.
Originally just covering UK Muay Thai, the project rapidly spread globally. Muay Thai fighters and event promoters from countries such as Spain, Sweden, France and even Australia were all added to the Fighter Database.
Now, just three years on, we hold information on more than 5,000 Muay Thai and Kickboxing fighters from over 40 different countries around the World.
By signing up for a membership, users get access to all Muay Thai fight records. Users can tap any fighter name in a fighters history to go direct to that fighters page or even tap the name of the gym to see a list of all fighters from the same gym.
Furthermore, a Fight Record membership also gives users access to fight cards and results from Muay Thai events in Thailand, Australia, UK, USA, Brazil and most other countries around Europe.
With all that said, we are counting down our Top 10 most popular, most searched and most viewed Muay Thai fighters of all time on Fight Record.
10. Jacob Smith
Since beating Reece Thomson to claim the UK #1 spot, Birkenhead-based Muay Thai fighter Jacob Smith has risen in popularity over the past couple of years.
He was scheduled to face Superlek in his ONE Championship debut in March 2020 before it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
In April 2021, he was then set to face Rodtang Jitmuangnon before travel restrictions once again put a halt to his ONE Championship debut.
9. Juan Cervantes
UK and WBC Muaythai World ranked #1 Juan Cervantes has also been growing in popularity over the past few years. Breaking out onto the international scene in 2017, Cervantes had fought on Enfusion and Lion Fight before getting the call from ONE Championship.
Despite a majority decision loss in a Kickboxing bout against Santino Verbeek, the performance was enough to earn him a spot in the Top 10 best fights of all time in ONE Championship.
8. Amy Pirnie
Scottish female Muay Thai fighter Amy Pirnie has been on an unstoppable trajectory throughout her fighting career.
Pirnie has beaten some of the top female Muay Thai fighters in the World and is a two-time Lion Fight and ISKA Muay Thai World champion.
She is arguably one of the best female Muay Thai fighters currently not signed to ONE Championship.
7. Stuart Stabler
Unbeaten Muay Thai prodigy Stuart Stabler is probably the least globally recognised name on our list. His name appears high on Google search results however.
He has dominated his opponents at YOKKAO and is currently on a four-fight knockout streak. He is also well known for his slick Muay Thai pad work videos with coach Simon Chu.
6. Smilla Sundell
Female Muay Thai fighter Smilla Sundell has burst onto the global Muay Thai scene in the past 12-months. At just 17-years-old, the Swedish star has already beaten some of the best female Muay Thai fighters in Thailand, including wins over Sawsing Sor.Sopit and Pornpan Por.Muengpetch at Muay Thai Super Champ in 2020.
In January 2021, it was announced Smilla Sundell had signed with ONE Championship.
5. Joe Craven
Despite no fights since March 2020, UK Middleweight #1 Joe Craven enters the Top 5 most viewed Muay Thai fighters of all time on Fight Record.
The Bad Company fighter, who trains alongside the likes of Liam Harrison and Jordan Watson, is on a two-fight skid after losses to Niall Brown and four-time WBC Muaythai World champion Youssef Boughanem.
Craven was set to defend his UK #1 spot against George Jarvis at VICTORY 6 in May, but the bout fell through due to sustaining an injury.
4. Allycia Rodrigues
Brazilian female Muay Thai fighter Allycia Rodrigues has been a popular name on the Muay Thai scene in Thailand over the past few years.
Training alongside other Brazilian Muay Thai fighters like Luis Cajaiba and Julio Lobo at Phuket Fight Club, Allycia was active in the stadiums in and around Phuket before signing with ONE Championship in 2020.
Her ONE Championship debut in August 2020 couldn’t have gone any better. Facing the current ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World champion Stamp Fairtex, Allycia executed her gameplan perfectly, looking stronger throughout the later rounds to win the Atomweight Muay Thai World title.
3. Rodtang Jitmuangnon
Rodtang Jitmuangnon will need no introduction. Known as one of the best Muay Thai fighters of this generation, the ONE Championship Flyweight Muay Thai World champion recently went 10-0 in ONE on his quest to become a two-sport World champion.
His aggressive, heavy-punching fighting style and tendency to taunt his opponents in the ring make him one of the most entertaining fighters to watch.
2. Evan Jays
Fighting out of Team Tieu in London, Evan Jays is one of the most popular and search for Muay Thai fighters in the UK.
With regular appearances on Muay Thai Grand Prix, “Boy Wonder” Evan Jays has grown in popularity and looks to have a huge future ahead of him.
1. Nico Carrillo
Scottish Muay Thai fighter Nico Carrillo is undoubtedly one of the most popular fighters in recent years. His Google search stats and Fight Record profile visits are miles ahead of any other Muay Thai fighter on this list.
His powerful punches and blistering fast kicks have seen many of his opponents crumble. Despite that however, many argue that Nico Carrillo is yet to face elite level competition.
One thing is for certain though, and that’s guaranteed entertainment whenever Nico Carrillo steps in the ring.
