  • Live Stream, Start Time, How To Watch

The highly-anticipated bout between Nico Carrillo and Jack Kennedy is set for this Sunday, October 24, at SuperShowDown.

In a classic striker vs clincher match-up, the pair will meet as one of the featured bouts on the main card.

Nico, known for his powerful striking, comes into this bout having silenced many doubters with a knockout win over former UK #1, Mo Abdurahman, in his last bout in July.

Just two months prior, Abdurahman registered a narrow points victory over Carrillo’s next opponent, Jack Kennedy.

Despite these results favoring Carrillo on paper, it’s the experience of the well-school Kennedy that could become a determining factor when they meet this weekend.

The Match-Up

By now, most people know what to expect when Nico Carrillo enters the ring.

Known for his striking power, four of his last eight wins have came by way of knockout.

We have rarely seen Carrillo go a full five rounds however, so the question on everyone’s lips will be; can he go five rounds with an opponent of Kennedy’s level?

Lesser known for his power, and more renowned for his technical Muay Khao (knee and clinch fighter) style, Kennedy’s chances to control the bout will be to close the distance, eliminating Carrillo’s powerful punches and low kicks, and engage in the clinch.

Adopting a more traditional fighting style, Kennedy paces himself in the early rounds, picking up steam throughout rounds three and four. But, is this the correct strategy to use against the often fast-starting Carrillo?

Can he weather the onslaught in the early rounds? Can Kennedy pick away at Carrillo’s defence with his knees and elbows? And, can he wear him down in the clinch as the rounds tick on?

Or, will Kennedy choose to stand toe-to-toe in an all out war from the opening bell?

Either way, whatever happens on the night, the fight fans win when these two meet at SuperShowDown.
