Englishman Charlie Guest returns to the ring in ONE Championship for another featherweight Muay Thai clash at ONE Fight Night 48 in Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, October 2.
The Andover native will look to build on his successful promotional bow against American standout Luke Lessei.
He delivered an instant statement at ONE Fight Night 44 this past June, taking out fellow debutant Sam Fitzgerald at the 2:08 mark of the second round. After a tricky opening frame, the Impact MMA and Tiger Muay Thai fighter came out to hunt for the finish.
The ISKA Muay Thai World Champion walked down the New Zealander with a barrage of punches. When Fitzgerald defended his face, the 30-year-old Brit uncorked two thumping body shots before following up with a right hand upstairs to score the first of three knockdowns.
Fitzgerald answered the count and returned with ammunition of his own, only to leave himself exposed in the process. Guest backed him up and threw in a solid overhand right for the second-eight count.
The New Zealander managed to regain his footing once more – sadly, that was the last time he did so. The English striker soon cornered him and unleashed a mix of punches and elbows to the body and head, wrapping the clash just eight seconds past the two-minute mark of the canto.
Guest, now equipped with a 38-15 resume and experience of competing in four-ounce Muay Thai gloves, will look to deliver that same brand of intensity against the hard-hitting Luke Lessei.
Lessei, for his part, won’t be there just to let Guest waltz past him at ONE Fight Night 48. The American star is as tough as they come, and he hops back into action in search of a second successive triumph of 2026.
After going down to Nico Carrillo last November, the Iowa native returned to the winner’s column with a strong three-round display against Mohamed Younes Rabah, thus improving to 9-3.
There is very little that separates both fighters in terms of reach and build. The six-foot Brit will be happy to trade on the outside against the six-foot-one Lessei or turn it into a war inside the pocket if he needs to.
A big win for both strikers, after all, could go a long way toward their aim of fighting for the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world championship, currently in possession of Carrillo.
