“I expect a tougher fight” – Regian Eersel Braces For Renewed Fire From George Jarvis in Their Sequel at The Inner Circle 33

Regian Eersel vs George Jarvis | ONE Championship

Regian Eersel has already stopped George Jarvis in 84 seconds, but the reigning two-sport ONE world champion is fully aware that the man walking across the ring at him this time is a very different proposition.

He defends his ONE lightweight Muay Thai world title against the British striking specialist in the headline attraction of The Inner Circle 33, streaming live in Asia primetime exclusively for subscribers at live.onefc.com from Bangkok’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, October 2.

The Sityodtong Amsterdam representative comfortably dismantled the Englishman inside the opening frame the first time they met at ONE Fight Night 34 in August 2025 – but the English challenger has spent every minute since rebuilding his standing and earning his second shot at the gold.

Eersel is not treating this rematch like a repeat performance. The champion knows exactly how dangerous a hungry challenger with a personal score to settle can be, and he has zero interest in walking into the contest expecting an easy night:

“Yes, I expect a tougher fight because it’s a rematch for him, and I think he’s double motivated. He can fight for the belt again. He already had two fights — after our last fight, he won both of [his fights]. So I think he says he has a greater strategy now. So I expect a tougher fight, yes.”

Jarvis’ bounce-back campaign has certainly done enough to earn him the rematch.

A decision triumph over former ONE lightweight Muay Thai world title challenger Sinsamut Klinmee reset his momentum, before a devastating second-round knockout of Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong cemented his return to the world title conversation.

Eersel, however, has not been particularly moved by any of it. He has watched both contests back, and doesn’t spot anything drastically different in Jarvis’ game. The 33-year-old continued:

“To tell you honestly, I didn’t seem to notice any difference in his last two fights. So, I’m kind of curious what he’s coming with, what he’s bringing on fight day.”

Regian Eersel plots familiar blueprint with an eye on another explosive finish

Regian Eersel has zero intention of overcomplicating anything at The Inner Circle 33.

The Surinamese knows exactly what has kept him at the top of the ONE lightweight Muay Thai division for as long as he has, and the plan for the rematch mirrors everything that has already fueled his legendary reign.

Suffocating pressure. Sharp counter-striking. A relentless pace that only sharpens as the rounds progress. And the constant knowledge that a fight-ending shot could arrive at any moment.

The Amsterdam-based fighter broke down his blueprint for the rematch:

“The game plan is the same game plan as before. [I’m] putting the pressure on, being smart, making my points, hurting him a couple of times, demolishing him and, in the championship rounds, I’m putting up the pace, as I always do.”

“I go in as always thinking that I’m gonna fight five rounds. But I will not be surprised if I finish him earlier. When I can knock him out, I will knock him out, of course. I don’t expect it, but it’s in the back of my head.”
