The King of the North, Nico Carrillo, continued his meteoric rise to stardom today when he defeated the legend Nong-O at ONE Friday Fights 46.
In a classic case of “when your idols become your rivals”, the young Scotsman used to watch the legend Nong-O on YouTube whilst at school.
Now, he has just earned the biggest win of his career by defeating his idol via second round knockout.
In the first round, it was clear what Nong-O’s gameplan was as he landed strong low kicks to the lead leg of Carrillo.
As Nong-O’s shins of steel continued to slam the leg of Carrillo, it was clear the shots were beginning to take affect as Nico hobbled and switched stances.
In the second round, though, Carrillo adopted a southpaw stance and came out strong, closing the distance and landing numerous punches and elbows on the former Bantamweight champion.
He dropped Nong-O with a huge shot and that was all she wrote. The Scottish star earned the biggest win of his career, taking out the legend and #1 ranked Bantamweight, Nong-O.

In a moment after the fight, Nong-O and Carrillo shared their respect for each other.
In the post-fight interview, Nico Carrillo made it clear what he wants next.
“Jonathan Haggerty, I’m coming for that belt.”
Nico Carrillo
Is a title bout against Jonathan Haggerty next for Nico Carrillo? It certainly shapes it up to be one of the biggest fights in ONE in 2024, and the biggest fight in British Muay Thai history.
