Current ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai world champion, Smilla Sundell, is set for a huge title defence on May 3.
The Swedish athlete will face arguably her toughest test to date in Natalia Diachkova, who’s been on a tear at ONE Friday Fights over the past year.
The current champion has been relatively inactive since she won the inaugural title against Jackie Buntan almost two years ago.
Since then, she’s only had two outings — firstly defeating newcomer Milana Bjelogric in a Kickboxing bout at ONE Friday Fights 18, then successfully defending her Muay Thai title against Allycia Rodrigues in September 2023.

She’ll now make her second defence against the undefeated prospect in Natalia Diachkova.
The ‘Karelian Lynx’ has gone 4-0 in ONE over the past year, picking up three stoppage wins en route.
She’s beaten some of the best names the world has to offer in her weight category, including Dokmaipa, Lena Nocker and Hannah Brady.
Most recently, her first round stoppage win over Chellina Chirino is what earned her the six-figure ONE Championship contract.
She now begins her new tenure against the best in her division — Smilla Sundell.
It all goes down at ONE Fight Night 22 on Friday, May 3 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
