Takeru Knocks Out Rodtang at ONE Samurai 1

Takeru Knocks Out Rodtang at ONE Samurai 1

For the first time in 13 years, Rodtang Jitmuangnon has been knocked out. Takeru Segawa, who was a major underdog going into the fight, stopped him in the fifth round.

Given the outcome of their first fight, most people wrote Takeru’s chances off. Another dominant win was expected for Rodtang.

But it wasn’t to be. The pair exchanged strikes over five entertaining rounds before Takeru found some success with his punches in the fifth round.

Rodtang fell to the canvas three times before referee Olivier Coste waved off the fight and the crowd erupted.

Takeru, who said this would be his final fight before retirement, bowed out in style. With the win over Rodtang, Takeru claimed the interim ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World title.
