The Inner Circle 28 on Friday, August 28, delivered non-stop action from start to finish, capped by an entertaining bantamweight Muay Thai tilt between Worapon Lukjaoporongtom and Lenny Blasi.

Their nine-minute battle wrapped up this week’s subscriber-only spectacle in Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 22-year-old Italian didn’t take a step back in his pursuit of a third straight win in the promotion. Right off the bat, the Team Calzolari slugger controlled the fight with smart entries and effective attacks.

Worapon did attempt to minimize the onslaught, but Blasi stayed one step ahead as the match headed into round two. The Italian ace, though, was immediately pushed into reverse gear when action resumed.

The Thai blasted into enemy territory with heavy attacks. That did not prove to be the wisest of decisions against the young Italian, however. Just as the Thai stepped forward to deliver a body kick, Blasi caught him with a left hook that sent his man down for an eight-count.

Blasi finished the frame strong and continued where he had left off in the third stanza. The Milanese showed composure and IQ beyond his years, countering and dominating his foe every time they traded until the final bell.

He walked away with a deserving unanimous decision win that improved his record to 32-8.

Ubaid Hussain bags US$100,000 contract

Earlier on the card, British-Pakistani striking maestro Ubaid Hussain authored one of the best performances of his young career en route to securing the coveted US$100,000 main roster contract.

True to his word in a pre-fight interview with Fight Record, the Leeds native was in cruise control throughout his three-round flyweight Muay Thai clash against Thai star Isannuea Sor Sasiwat.

He used his footwork, speed, and creativity to dominate his 22-year-old dance partner wherever the fight unfolded.

Besides his supreme in-ring control, the 20-year-old further solidified his standing on the scorecard via a perfectly timed knee to the midsection in the first round for the fight’s lone knockdown.

Hussain’s slate now stands at 17-0. The young gun is 8-0 in ONE Championship, and the flyweight Muay Thai division has certainly been put on notice.
