Lamnamoonlek Torfunfarm pulled off the biggest triumph of his ONE Championship career at The Inner Circle 32 inside Bangkok’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, September 25.
The 28-year-old TDed99 product outpointed seven-time Muay Thai world champion Panpayak Jitmuangnon via split decision in a nine-minute flyweight kickboxing main event battle.
As a result, the Thai slugger snapped his rival’s perfect promotional kickboxing record, pushed his career record to a staggering 107-31, and took a massive step closer to the life-changing US$100,000 main roster contract he has been chasing.
Panpayak, however, looked like a man en route to keeping his 5-0 kickboxing slate intact during the first stanza of their bout.
The multi-time Muay Thai world champion opened the contest exactly as most expected. Crisp push kicks, sharp straights, and the trademark defensive brilliance that has made him a tricky puzzle kept Lamnamoonlek entirely at bay through the first frame.
But the challenger refused to disappear. He kept hunting the body, cutting angles late in the round, and firing punches into Panpayak’s midsection to plant early seeds of doubt.
The second frame threatened to slip completely away from Lamnamoonlek. Panpayak found his jab-head kick combination in rhythm, chopped away at Lamnamoonlek’s lead leg, and switched kicks to the sternum to seize control of the distance.
Then came the moment that flipped the entire dynamic. Just as the second-round bell approached, Lamnamoonlek uncorked a rude left hand that snapped clean into Panpayak’s chin.
Suddenly, everything looked different.
Round three was chaos in Lamnamoonlek’s favour. He came out swinging and walked Panpayak down into close quarters, unloading punishing hook combinations.
The defining sequence arrived in the form of a thunderous uppercut that snapped ‘The Angel Warrior’s’ head back and turned the momentum firmly in his direction.
Panpayak fought back with every ounce of his championship pedigree – but the accumulated damage had done its work.
