The Inner Circle 33 Recap: Regian Eersel Digs Deep to Stop George Jarvis in Rematch, Retains Lightweight Muay Thai Crown

Regian Eersel added yet another chapter to his legendary two-sport reign at The Inner Circle 33 inside Bangkok’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, October 2.

The 33-year-old Surinamese superstar stopped English challenger George Jarvis via fourth-round KO at the 1:39 mark in their epic main event rematch for the ONE lightweight Muay Thai world title.

He successfully defended his lightweight Muay Thai gold for the fourth time, pushed his career record to 66-5, and cemented his place as the most decorated titleholder in ONE Championship history as a 12-time world champion across Muay Thai and kickboxing.

The night was anything but comfortable for him, however. In fact, Eersel, who also reigns as the promotion’s lightweight kickboxing world champion, came perilously close to seeing his legendary reign crash down inside the opening frame.

Jarvis walked into the rematch a far sharper fighter than the version Eersel dismantled in 84 seconds at ONE Fight Night 34 back in August 2025. The Englishman kept his guard tight, deployed clever feints, and showed brilliant composure throughout.

Eersel welcomed the chaos, firing crisp one-two combinations and even launching a flying knee for added flair. Jarvis, though, was the one who landed the moment that changed the complexion of the contest. Despite blood streaming down his face, the Lumpini Crawley product cracked a thudding left hook into Eersel’s temple to score a shocking opening-round knockdown.

The Surinamese fighter survived to the bell. From there, he immediately set about resetting the dynamic. In the second, he went to work with sharp leg kicks from the outside. The Englishman grew bolder as the round progressed, but Eersel spotted his foe’s guard dropping and uncorked a laser-fast left hook that dumped Jarvis onto the mat to even the knockdown count.

Round three descended into a proper world title war. Eersel worked behind a stiff jab and extended combinations, while Jarvis bit down on his mouthpiece and fired back with heavy hooks upstairs and biting shots to the body.

Jarvis opened the fourth with his signature left cross. Sensing fatigue setting in, Eersel abandoned the kicks and returned to the badly damaged right eye of his foe – crashing home another clean left hook to dump the Englishman for the second time.

The Brit instinctively covered his wounded right eye, which forced the referee to intervene and wave the contest off just seconds shy of the two-minute mark in the fourth canto.
