Thai fighter Worapon Lukjaoporongtom returns to the ring in the form of his life, and he hopes to build on that momentum in the main event of The Inner Circle 28.
The 23-year-old squares off against Italy’s Lenny Blasi this Friday, August 28, inside Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.
Worapon carries a three-fight winning streak through 2026 into the matchup, a run built on speed, sharp finishing instincts, and consistent output across every discipline of the sport. Blasi, though, presents a different kind of puzzle than most of the opposition he has faced this year.
As such, the Thai has done all the necessary research. The Sor Dechapan man shared:
“I believe I hold the edge in fight experience and ring maturity, but he’s still a dangerous opponent because of his versatility. Unlike some foreign fighters who rely solely on boxing, he brings knees and kicks into the mix. He looks dangerous. He possesses a diverse arsenal with sharp combinations and solid power behind his strikes.”
That respect for his opponent’s tools has done nothing to slow Worapon down, however. It has only sharpened his intent to find out early exactly how the matchup plays out, risk be damned.
The 72-win veteran declared:
“From the very first second the bell rings, I’m ready to press the action and look for the finish. My body is ready to push the tempo, and I plan to march forward from the opening bell.”
Worapon believes he’s inching on a main roster deal
A win over Blasi would mean far more to Worapon than another line on his record. He believes a finish here could be the exact push he needs toward the life-changing US$100,000 main roster contract.
He explained:
“If I win this fight, it will mark my fourth victory of the year. If I deliver an impressive performance and land a clean finish, the opportunity is right there. I feel I’m just one or two fights away, provided I keep performing at this level.”
Indeed, four wins in a single calendar year would put him among the standout performers on the weekly series.
Beyond the number itself, the finishes have carried real weight. Two of his three wins this year came before the final bell, and a similar result against Blasi would keep that trend alive at exactly the right time.
