This past Friday, Junior Fairtex scored a huge second-round stoppage against Zehra Dogan.
Despite being outclassed for the whole of the first round, Junior came out strong in the second round and put it on the Turkish fighter.
Zehra Dogan looked sharp in the first round. She found her range early and had success with her push kicks. Junior struggled to defend the push kicks, but she took them on the chin (literally) and kept marching forward.
In round 2, she continued to march down her opponent. A flash right hand to the body caught the Dogan flush and caused visible pain.
The Turkish fighter retreated, holding her abdominal area and dropped to the canvas for an eight-count. She answered the count and tried to use her range with the knees as the match continued.
Junior kept the pressure, though, and after a number of combinations aimed at the body, the referee called a stop to the fight.
