After a double event this past weekend, a shake-up in our ONE Power Rankings was inevitable. ONE Friday Fights 35 took place and Lumpinee Stadium on September 29. Less than 12 hours later ONE Fight Night 14 brought the roof off the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
On Saturday, ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai world champion, Smilla Sundell, returned to the ring for her first title defence. She faced current Atomweight Muay Thai world champion, Allycia Rodrigues. The Brazilian stepped in to replace Jackie Buntan a few weeks ago.
Smilla Sundell enters ONE Power Rankings Overall Top 20
The size difference was apart, as Smilla used her range and boxing combinations to wear down Rodrigues. In the third-round, Smilla Sundell finished the Brazilian with a flurry of body shots, retaining her ONE Championship gold.
The win earned the Swedish phenom 12 power points. After picking up only a single point so far in 2023, she now sits on 13 power points for the year. This now puts her level on points with Russian striker Natalia Diachkova, where they both share 7th place in over ONE Power Rankings Overall Top 20.
