Patricia Axling and Camilla Danielsson advance to finals at Baltic Muaythai Open

After beating Nina Scheucher at last year’s IFMA European Championships final to take the Gold medal, Sweden’s Patricia Axling of Odenplan Fightgym took a second win in just over three-months over her Austrian rival at the Baltic Muaythai Open in Lithuania today.

The two ladies met in the semi-final of the -57kg senior tournament in Vilnius today with Patricia taking the win via unanimous decision after three rounds of action (30-27). The Odenplan Fightgym fighter, Patricia Axling, now moves on to face Czechia’s Karolína Klusová in the final tomorrow.

Patricia’s Odenplan team-mate and follow SWEMT fighter, Camilla Danielsson, faced a tough test against #TeamGB’s Leigh Newton. Both of these competitors have been scheduled to face mutual opponents recently, so it was only a matter of time before the -48kg girls came to face each other.

Camilla, however, was the slightly stronger of the two, taking a narrow win over Leigh by just 1 point and advances to the final against Svetlana Spetsyan of Belarus who beat Finland’s Satu Mykkänen in the semi-final today.
