The Fight Record Power Rankings are a way to recognise the significance of an athletes form and results.
With so much happening every week at ONE Championship and RWS Muay Thai, it’s easy for fans to forget about certain fighters and/or results.
Therefore, we create a league system as a reference point for the most active and in-form fighters across the major Muay Thai and Kickboxing promotions.
How do the Power Rankings work?
The Fight Record Power Rankings work in the same way as any sports league table. Every year (or season), points are reset to 0 and athletes accumulate points throughout the year based on activity and results.
At the end of the year, a league winner is declared and points are reset ready to start a new season. The Fight Record Power Rankings season runs from 1st January to 31st December each year.
Each major promotion which we cover has it’s own Power Rankings league table. Right now, we cover every fight, every knockdown and every knockout from the following major Muay Thai and Kickboxing promotions:
- ONE Championship
- RWS Muay Thai
- GLORY Kickboxing
How are the Fight Record Power Rankings scored?
Last updated: September 2024
We introduced a new Power Rankings league system in 2024. The points are scored as follows:
Win: 1 point
Knockdown: 1 point
1st Round Stoppage: +3 points
2nd Round Stoppage: +2 points
3rd Round Stoppage: +1 point
However, we wanted to give more significance to a victory, even if it is via points decision with no knockdowns. Therefore in 2025 we will update the Power Rankings points to the below:
Win: 3 points
Draw: 1 point
Knockdown: 1 point
1st Round Stoppage: +3 points
2nd Round Stoppage: +2 points
3rd Round Stoppage: +1 point
