Rodlek’s Journey To ONE Championship Title Fight

Rodlek PKSaenchaimuaythaigym - ONE Championship

This Friday, Rodlek PKSaenchaimuaythaigym will face Nong-O Gaiyanghadao. The bout will be Nong-O’s fourth defence of his ONE Championship Bantamweight Muay Thai World title.

A Muay Thai bout of this magnitude is one of the biggest fights in ONE history. We look back at Rodlek‘s ONE Championship journey that has led him to the World title opportunity.

Rodlek’s ONE Championship debut went down as one of the greatest Muay Thai bouts in ONE history. On 15th June 2019, he edged a close decision win in a three-round thriller against UK’s Liam Harrison.

Rodlek’s next two fights would also come against British opponents. In August 2019 he defeated Andrew Miller via stoppage, and in January 2020 he beat Chris Shaw.

Rodlek would then enter the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai four-man tournament at ONE: NO SURRENDER II. He lost the first bout against fellow Thai Saemapetch Fairtex. However, due to injury, Rodlek got a pass to face Kulabdam in the tournament final.

The ‘Man of steel’ defeated Kulabdam to earn his shot at ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao.

Rodlek is a 2016 Channel 7 Stadium 130lbs champion, but fell short in his last title opportunity in 2018. He lost a WBC Muaythai Super-Lightweight World title bout against Seksan or.Kwanmuang.

ONE: COLLISION COURSE is LIVE and FREE via the ONE SuperApp and YouTube. The fight card kicks off at 8.30pm Singapore / 12.30pm GMT.
