Former Rajadamnern Stadium Bantamweight Champion Khunsueklek Boomdeksian made a successful return to the ring at Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, this weekend. He defeated Peyman Zolfaghari on the main card of RWS Muay Thai after almost a year away from competition through injury.
A Fighter Built for the Big Stage
At just 20 years old, Khunsueklek Boomdeksian has already lived through more in the sport than most fighters twice his age. He began training in Muay Thai at the age of nine alongside his twin brother Khunsuknoi, eventually joining the Boomdeksian camp after roughly twenty fights.
His rise through the bantamweight division was remarkable. He captured the Rajadamnern Stadium Bantamweight Championship and went on an extraordinary six-year unbeaten run in Muay Thai from 2019 to July 2024, accumulating 41 wins and 1 draw.
That record came to a halt in July 2024 when Ryuki Matsuda stopped him with a right cross in the second round of their title defence, an upset that sent shockwaves through the world of Muay Thai. Khunsueklek responded in the rematch on 21st September 2024, winning by unanimous decision to reclaim his place at the top of the division.
After a couple more title defences, he vacated the Bantamweight title after failing to make weight in July 2025, and later moved up to Super-Bantamweight.
Peyman Zolfaghari is an Iranian striker with considerable experience on the RWS platform. He has been a regular face at Rajadamnern Stadium and arrived for Saturday’s contest with recent RWS experience behind him.
Zolfaghari is a durable, determined opponent. His presence on the main card underlined the significance of Khunsueklek’s return. This was not an easy comeback fight.
The Return
Khunsueklek showed no signs of ring rust on Saturday night. The young Thai produced a composed and controlled performance to defeat Zolfaghari and remind the Rajadamnern Stadium crowd exactly why he is regarded as one of the division’s most special talents.
The win signals that Khunsueklek is fit, focused and ready to resume his place among the best bantamweights competing at Rajadamnern Stadium.
