Jackson Barkhouse is set to make his RWS Muay Thai debut against Rittewada Petchyindee Academy on September 20. The bout promises a high-energy clash between rising British talent and one of Thailand’s most decorated fighters.
Rittewada’s RWS Muay Thai credentials
Rittewada’s RWS career got off to a shaky start after a shock knockout loss to Fabio Reis back in December 2022. What followed, though, was one of the most dominant runs in RWS Muay Thai history. Rittewada went on a 10 fight win streak which lasted almost two years. It was brought to an end by Daniel Rodriguez in the RWS Super-Welterweight tournament final in December 2024.
Who is Jackson Barkhouse?
Relatively unknown at international level, Jackson Barkhouse has made a name for himself at domestic and European level. He is the current #3 ranked Middleweight in the UK Muay Thai Rankings.
A debut on one of the world’s biggest Muay Thai promotions against one of the best Super-Welterweight’s is a big ask. But Jackson Barkhouse certainly has the technical ability to cause a major upset.
Additionally, Barkhouse generally competes at a higher weight — usually anywhere between 160-168lbs. Rittewada, of course, moved up from Welterweight (147lbs) to Super-Welterweight (154lbs) last year. Although at the time of writing, we don’t know exactly which weight the fight has been matched at — but it is likely Jackson Barkhouse will have a size advantage over Rittewada.
