Saturday, December 11 — Today, Iman Barlow became the first British Muay Thai fighter to win a gold medal in the modern-era Senior IFMA World Championships.
The Melton Mowbray star, who is one of the UK’s most experienced Muay Thai fighters, defeated tough French opponent, Anaelle Angerville, in today’s Female Elite 57kg final at the Nimibutr Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
Defeating Priya Sharma (IND) and Patricia Axling (SWE) on her way to the final, Barlow proved why she is considered one of the greatest female Muay Thai fighters in the World, securing the gold medal in her first appearance in an IFMA tournament.
Undefeated since 2017, Iman Barlow has won a plethora of accolades throughout her professional career, including the Lion Fight World title, Muay Thai Grand Prix World title, Enfusion Kickboxing World title and the WBC Muaythai International title.
She now adds the 2021 IFMA World Championship to her resume and goes down in history as one of the very few British Muay Thai fighters to win prestigious World titles under amateur and professional rules.
