Capitan Petchyindee Academy recently underwent a body scan to determine a suitable fight weight in which he could achieve without over-dehydrating and depleting his body of essentials.
The result of the scan showed the Petchyindee Academy star can safely cut to 135lbs (61.2kg), which opens up a range of possible fights in the Lightweight division, so we’ve picked out four of our favourite potential Muay Thai bouts for Capitan.
Rodtang Jitmuangnon
You can’t have a conversation ahout the best Lightweight Muay Thai fighters without mentioning this man. Apart from a loss to Kaona at the start of 2020 (which he avenged at World Siam Stadium last month), Rodtang Jitmuangnon has been on a formidable run of late.
With 13 wins from his last 14 bouts stretching back two-years, he’s beaten some of the best Lightweight’s in the World, including the likes of Jonathan Haggerty, Petchdam Petchyindee Academy, Yodlekphet Or.Pitisak and Seksan Or.Kwanmuang.
Kaona Sor.Jor.Tongprajin
Another interesting Lightweight clash for Capitan Petchyindee Academy would be against Kaona Sor.Jor.Tongprajin, who, up until the loss against Rodtang last month, was 13-2-2 in his previous 17 bouts.
Superlek Kiatmoo9
Moving up from Super-Featherweight, Superlek has been a dominant force in the Lighweight division in recent years. Defeating elite Muay Thai stars such as Rungkit, Rungkhao and Superball, he also has four straight wins in ONE Championship.
Superball Tded99
Another enticing option at 135lbs for Capitan would be a bout against WMO Muaythai #4 and WBC Muaythai #8 Superball Tded99, who is coming off a fourth win over Phet-U-Thong Or.Kwanmuang at Omnoi Stadium earlier this month. His Muay Khao style would be an interesting clash against the heavy-hitting Capitan.
