Just over one year ago, Aberdeen Combat Centre fighter Judy Humber fractured her skull during a clash of heads whilst playing football for Cover Rangers Ladies.
The collision caused an injury to her brain which required surgery, a metal plate and eight screws to begin the recovery process.

After only starting training Muay Thai in early 2017, Judy had had three fights, and had another five or six planned in 2018 before the accident.
Now, just one year after sustaining the injury, Judy Humber returned to action last weekend where she beat Alice Dowsett via third-round stoppage at Roar Combat League in Birmingham.
Speak to us after the fight, Judy said, “I am loving being back, it reminded me of how much I love fighting!
“I wasn’t sure how it would go as it’s been so long since I last fought, so I had some nerves before-hand, especially since I traveled to Birmingham on my own.
“Luckily my coach Den is good friend with Jompop from Kiatphontip gym in Leeds so he took care of me at the show and was in my corner.
“I just went in with the aim of doing my best and trying to score as much as possible, as I didn’t think a stoppage would be possible with the full padding under IFMA rules and only 3 x 2 minute rounds.
“I can genuinely say I loved every single second of it, it’s really brought the buzz back. I can’t wait to get more fights booked in now and keep on learning and trying to improve.
“I feel like all the hard work towards recovery has finally paid off and I can’t wait to get back to training for the next one!”
