Chris Shaw will be venturing south of the border next week to attend one of the biggest, most exciting kickboxing events in the world. Shaw talks about always wanting to fight on such a stage, fighting K1 and the Enfusion ruleset.
Shaw will be looking to get back to winning ways after tasting bitter defeat on his home show against Nathan Bendon. Tickets are still available for Enfusion and can be purchased on your phone using the Eventbrite app or using the Enfusion UK link – www.enfusionuk.eventbrite.co.uk.
FR: Now you’re back in camp prepping for Enfusion, how you feeling?
Shaw: Feeling good mate. Training hard for my next fight and excited to be fighting K1 for a change!
FR: What do you know about your opponent?
Shaw: He only fights K1 and has fought a lot of quality opponents like Mo Abdurahman and Karim Bennoui. He’s aggressive so I’m looking forward to standing and exchanging big shots!
FR: You fought in Newcastle last year in the tournament, where you were named victor, how does it feel coming down again on a bigger stage this time?
Shaw: I’m looking forward to coming back to Newcastle to fight in front of a big crowd again. DUEL GP was a great show and I’m sure Enfusion will top it! A lot of big names on the card and the fans are in for a treat!
FR: Enfusion hasn’t been in the UK since 2014, how does it make you feel to be fighting on it?
Shaw: I have always wanted to fight on Enfusion. Very grateful for such a good opportunity. After the fight, I hope I become a regular on all their shows.
FR: Enfusion rules, how do you feel about them? Will there be much difference to what you’re used to?
Shaw: It’s a good rule set as clinching is allowed if working and you are allowed the sweeps and the catching of kicks. Just need to not elbow anyone and it will be all good ha ha.
FR: If people wanted to support you when buying tickets, how can they do that?
Shaw: Anyone wanting to come to support me you can buy tickets on the Enfusion web page and quote my name ‘SHAW’ in the promo code . YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!
