The ‘Queen of Rajadamnern’ stadium was back in action today in the second round of the RWS 2024 Women’s Bantamweight tournament.
She faced arguably her toughest test to date against Brazilian standout Maria Eduarda.
After a comfortable first round, Somratsamee headed into the second round 10-9 up on the scorecards.
The Brazilian came out swinging in the second and caught Somratsamee with a combination.
She dazed the Rajadamnern Stadium champion and swarmed on her with more combinations. Somratsamee looked close to falling to the canvas, but she managed to leverage the ropes and stayed on her feet.
Maria Eduarda took the second round 10-9 on all three judges scorecards, but Somratsamee came back in the third round and edged out a 29-28 unanimous decision win.
