After the bout, he was awarded the usual 350,00 Baht knockout bonus. However, he also received the news that he’d earned himself a six-figure contract with ONE Championship.
For those unfamiliar, fighters who compete on the ONE Friday Fights shows are contracted to a single bout at a time. This acts almost as a feeder show for the ‘bigger’ ONE Championship events.
The most successful fighters on the Friday shows are fighting for the opportunity to complete on the bigger shows. Stars such as Nico Carrillo and a few others have earned their spot on the ONE Championship roster this way.
Johan Ghazali is now the next athlete to join the ONE Championship roster after his fourth straight victory at ONE Friday Fights.
At just 16-years-old, he becomes the youngest ever athlete to earn a ONE Championship contract. After receiving the news in his post-fight interview, Johan Ghazali said:
“I got a ONE Championship contract before I got a driving license.
