The UK’s top Bantamweight, Ellis Barboza will take on Australia’s best, Corey Nicholson for the WBC MuayThai International title.
Ellis Barboza, who now trains out of Dubai, competed at Muay Thai League in Australia earlier this year. He came away with bitter-sweet emotions on that occasion, narrowly losing out to Penthai RevolutionMuayThai. Despite the loss on paper, many fans believed Ellis won the fight.
Due to the excitement of the bout and how close the decision was, the Muay Thai League promoters were keen to have Ellis Barboza back on the show. He will now take on Australia’s top Bantamweight, Corey Nicholson in the main event this weekend.
Corey Nicholson has competed against some of the best in his weight division for many years. In 2021, he became a two-time, two-weight World champion. His success has seen him propel up the WBC World rankings, where he now sits at #16, behind his opponent Ellis Barboza at #14.
The pair are set to clash for the WBC MuayThai Bantamweight International title in the main event at Muay Thai League. As well as this, there is a stacked card of 14 other huge domestic bouts.
